Dear RiverWorks Food Shelf Volunteers,
I just visited your food shelf for the first time today. It was my first experience in reaching out for assistance of that kind in my life. I cannot tell you how overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of everyone at RiverWorks.
Thank you so much for your help today. It was an amazing and unexpectedly a good amount of food for me and my family. I got into my car and just wept at the thought of what a blessing you are for families like mine that are in a very difficult and humbling time in their lives.
After suffering from a few minor strokes just over a year ago, losing my ability to work full time, I’ve been trimming our grocery budget by skipping meats, treats, snacks and prepackaged foods by cooking very basic things from scratch.
My child was so excited when I got home and asked where in the world I got all this deliciously wonderful food! This gift will be an enormous help right now. You went far beyond my expectations and I won’t be afraid to visit the food shelf anymore.
